1. Has it been independently verified for burglar protection?

• Has it been independently verified for fire protection?

Evaluated based upon the minimum amount of time that the interior of the safe will remain below 350 degrees Fahrenheit, safes come with fire protection ratings, of which 1 hour is the widely accepted minimum level. When purchasing a jewelry safe from a reputable company, always check that it has at least a one hour fire label from a recognized third party testing agency.

• Does it have a high security digital lock?

A high security lock is a must on any jewelry safe, and as with fire resistance, UL test locks and independently verify their quality and effectiveness. Locks that haven’t been third party tested (by a reputable organization) simply aren’t worth investing in, and they typically come in 3 main styles: traditional tumble style combination lock, digital and biometric fingerprint. Digital locks are the most cost-effective and convenient of the 3 options.

For precious jewels, gemstones, silver and gold, it’s worth investing in a luxury jewelry safe with lined drawers, shelves and compartments to protect your items while they remain locked away securely inside.
